The case of Sobh-e-Azadi weekly was raised in br. no. 76 of Tehran Criminal Court in the presence of Press Jury.According to legal reporter of ISNA, the representative of Public Prosecutor at the beginning of the session read out the bill of indictment and remarked that: In this case Reza Abbas Zadeh, Mansoor Jamshidi, the editor and managing director of Sobh-e-Azadi weekly, have received complaints from private claimant regarding publishing false news and provoking public opinion.Reza Abbas Zadeh, the editor of Sobh-e-Azadi said: this case has been reviewed by the court before and the verdict has been issued. We objected to the Court of Appeal, so the case was sent here for review. We had announced to the court that Mansoor Jamshidi is not the editor but a reporter and Majid Mohtashami is the managing director of the journal. He said: We published a story regarding the support offered by Fardis public prosecutor office to municipality and we did publish the reply we received in the next issue but the case is still open in the court. Judge Modir Khorasani, the head of br. no. 76 of Tehran Criminal Court, said: the appeal court considered us competent for reviewing the case and we will issue the verdict. However, some members of Press Jury believe that since the managing director is absent, the process is not legal. The head of the br. no. 76 of Tehran Criminal Court informed that soon the decision will be made announced termination of the session.
