Today morning the court hearing session of the managing director of Etemad newspaper was held in br. no. 1083 of Tehran Public Court in an open session with the presence of Press Jury.According to legal reporter of ISNA, Judge Hosseinian at the beginning of the session said that the first session of this case was postponed due to its concurrence with election and the second session was postponed since the lawyer of the defendant asked for postponing in order to attract the consent of the claimants and prepare defenses.He added that mayors of municipality regions no. one, three and five, Iran Telecommunication co. and the then mayor of Karaj gave their consent but there are still 6 complaints including the complaints raised by the Public Prosecutor, Society of Iran Nutrition and Intelligence Deputy of Tehran Public Security Police.Hosseinian considered the accusations as propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran, publishing false stories, publishing stories against public modesty, provoking groups and individuals to take actions against the security and prestige of the Islamic Republic of Iran and publishing false stories.Managing director of Etemad emphasized that we are not going to weaken the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is possible that a mistake occurs in practice but we are doing professional journalism in Etemad newspaper.He finally asked that the number of red lines which are to be observed by newspapers would be determined and added: We have been once accused of propaganda against the regime and we are now accused of the same offence. He also said that private claimants have declared their consent.Judge Hosseinian summoned the lawyer of private claimant and Modarres, the lawyer, in the court announced the consent of his client.Nemat Ahmadi, the lawyer of defendant, said that the Society for Iran Nutrition is not registered and based on article 173 of Criminal Rules of Procedure, it is barred by limitation so this complaint should be rejected.After the last defenses presented by Elyas Hazrati, Judge Hosseinian terminated session and the Press Jury started deliberating on the case.
